Far from the roaring football stadiums of the SEC or the packed-to-the-rafters basketball arenas of the ACC are college bass fishing teams hitting the lake and trying to reel in a national championship for their school.

Jack Alexander fell in love with fishing when he was just four years old. On a family trip to Naples, Florida, where his grandmother lived, Alexander, now a University of Montevallo sophomore went on his first real fishing trip. “I caught a mangrove snapper—and I was hooked from then on,” Alexander recalls.
